Ellis Martin Report: RUA Gold (RUA.TO) Drilling Glamorgan and Advancing Reefton Toward Production
Malibu, CA, Aug 13, 2026 AEST (ABN Newswire) - RUA Gold (
TSE:RUA) (
NZE:RGI) (
NZAUF:OTCMKTS) (
X9R:FRA) CEO Robert Eckford joins Ellis Martin for an important update as the company advances two very different opportunities in New Zealand, exploration at Glamorgan on the North Island and potential mine development at Reefton on the South Island.
RUA Gold has now received a five-year permit to drill Glamorgan, a previously undrilled epithermal gold system in New Zealand's prolific Hauraki Goldfield.
The company is planning approximately 9,000 metres of drilling, with Sutcliffe and Wires Ridge among the priority targets.
Eckford discusses why the geological and geophysical signatures at Glamorgan have his team excited and the importance of having veteran geologist Simon Henderson involved.
Henderson has decades of experience in the district, including his role in the discovery of Wharekirauponga (WKP).
Meanwhile, RUA continues moving Reefton toward potential production.
The project has qualified for New Zealand's Fast-track Approvals process, while RUA advances additional drilling, a PFS and its mine application.
Eckford also discusses something particularly important for investors: how RUA could finance development without relying exclusively on equity and excessive shareholder dilution.
His preferred approach could incorporate a combination of offtake financing, debt and equity, including the potential strategic value of Reefton's antimony.
And the company says it currently has approximately $30 million in the bank to execute its existing program.
In this interview:
- Glamorgan receives its five-year drilling permit
- Approximately 9,000 metres of drilling planned
- Why Sutcliffe and Wires Ridge are priority targets
- The geological similarities to WKP
- Reefton and New Zealand's Fast-track Approvals process
- PFS and mine application targeted for Q4
- The economics of a smaller, high-grade gold mine
- Gold and antimony exposure
- Financing development while managing dilution
- Major catalysts anticipated over the next six months
Eckford describes himself as a mine builder, not simply an explorer.
And when Ellis asks whether he (Eckford) intends to build Reefton, his answer is unequivocal: "100%."
